Principal's Celebration

Welcome back to Term Three! I hope the holidays provided your family with the opportunity to rest, recharge and enjoy some quality time together. It's always wonderful to see our students return with energy, smiles and a readiness to learn.
Term Three is often a time of strong momentum in learning. Students are settled into routines and teachers are focussed on deepening understandings and building on the progress made in the first half of the year.
This term, we are looking forward to several key events on the calendar, including Interschool Sport (Y5/6), Toowoomba Eisteddfod, Fire Education Visit (Y1), Book Week, Get Set for Prep 2026, Brisbane Excursions (Y6), Toowoomba District Chess Championships, Junior Athletics Carnival (5-8 year olds), Musical, Orchestra Immersion Workshops and Term 3 Parent/Teacher interviews - just to name a few!
These events not only enrich the curriculum but also build a strong sense of community and belonging across our school. Please keep an eye on our Newsletter Term 3 Calendar of Events!
Thank you to our dedicated staff for their ongoing commitment and professionalism - they continue to go above and beyond to support your children both academically and emotionally. I encourage you to continue partnering with us by maintaining regular communication with your child's teacher, supporting positive attendance and celebrating the successes - big and small!
I look forward to another great term of learning, achieving and growing together!

School Opinion Survey
School Opinion Surveys canvas the views of parents/caregivers, students and school staff from every state school on what our schools do well and how they can improve.
There are 4 different confidential surveys:
- parents/caregivers
- students
- students in special schools
- school staff.
Opinions on the school, student learning and student wellbeing are sought from a parent/caregiver in all families and students in selected year levels from each state school.
Invitations to complete the School Opinion Survey have now been emailed. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback.
KEY DATES:

100 DAYS OF PREP
On Friday, July 18 our Prep students officially reached their 100th day of school – what an exciting milestone! Over the past 100 days, our youngest learners have grown in so many ways. They’ve:
- made new friendships;
- gained confidence, independence and resilience;
- created, explored, played and discovered;
- built strong foundations in learning.
To mark this occasion, we celebrated with a fun-filled day of ‘100’ themed rotation activities. Our students came dressed as what they would like to be when they grow-up. A special mention to our staff ‘Glam Grannies’. We’re so proud of how far our Prep students have come in just 100 days!
WHAT IS THE NCCD?
The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) takes place every year in August. The NCCD is a collection that counts:
- the number of school students receiving an adjustment or ‘help’ due to disability
- the level of adjustment they are receiving to access education on the same basis as other students.
Students are counted in the NCCD if they receive ongoing adjustments at school due to disability. This ‘help’ allows them to access education on the same basis as a child without disability. The NCCD uses the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Schools provide this information to education authorities.
News from Mrs Hagley
Friday Interschool Sport
Interschool Sport began this week. Invoices have been generated following consent received. Payment of $40 is due and can be made via QParents, BPoint or in person at the office.
Road Safety
We are seeking your help in reinforcing the importance of road safety. It is really important that we re-teach children so they can be safe on and around the roads around our school.
Children are at risk because they act on impulse, they have difficulty judging speed and distance and they can also be less visible to drivers.
We have had a number of children crossing South Street unsafely over the last two weeks and have had some drivers report a couple of ‘close misses’.
We ask that you please take the time to talk to your children about the following points:
- Set clear limits for places that they can walk safely. Explain that crossing/running across the road away from school crossings or lights is dangerous.
- Practice how to cross the street safely in everyday situations such as going to the shops, visiting a friend or going to school. Always set a good example by crossing a street safely and using road crossings where available.
- Teach kids not to play at the back of cars and to look before crossing driveways so they can see reversing vehicles.
- Teach them to follow the basic elements of crossing safely using the Stop, Look, Listen and Think approach to crossing the road.
This is:
1. Stop one step back from the curb
2. Look and listen for traffic
3. Decide if it is safe to cross the road
4. Keep looking and listening while crossing.
Thank you for your help in keeping all of our children safe.

QParents

QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing admin@rangevilless@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 7333 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your child's unique EQID. Your child's EQID can also be found on your child's Semester Report Card.

Rangeville Outside School Hours Care Services
Rangeville Outside Hours School Care services are available for families if you need before school care, after school care or vacation care. If you want to know more about what is available, please contact the staff located in the Big Hall (W Block). There is also information on the P&C website www.rsspandc.com.au or email at roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au
Reminder to Parents
For the safety of your children and the others using the service, we need to contact parents or emergency contacts, resulting in a time lapse where we cannot find a child. This is a safety risk due to not having the staff ratios while we search for the children absent.
There are multiple ways to notify the service if your child is not attending a session:
- Record an absence via the Xplor App - go to attendance mark as absent (this is the preferred method)
- Call the service - 46177388 and leave a message
- Text through to the mobile - 0421 647 404 (leave a detailed text, Child's full name, date not attending)
- Email the service at roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au
If your child is absent from School, you still need to notify the service as we are independent to the school and due to Confidentiality, they are not authorised to notify us of your child's absence.
If we cannot reach the primary contact, emergency contacts are called and if these contacts cannot be reached, THE POLICE WILL BE CALLED.
If you are returning a call, please press EXT 4 to connect directly to the service. If not answered, please leave a message or text the mobile immediately.
If you do not notify us, you will incur a $5 penalty fee, as we are spending considerable time trying to find these absent children in the school grounds.
If this occurs more than 3 times, we may consider reviewing your enrolment.

Vacation Care
Winter Vacation Care was a wonderful two weeks with the children enjoying a range of activities and experiences. We loved learning about the wildlife animals and their habitats and food. The children got up close and were able to pat and touch some of the animals – baby crocodile, possum. The children enjoyed the silent disco and showcasing their dance skills on the floor. There were competitions and plenty of games galore. The movies were a great hit with watching How to Train Your Dragon. We loved the bus ride and exploring what is happening within our community. The children also enjoyed the sensory and messy play activities and exploring their senses. Construction day was enjoyed with the children building and creating ramps and using the large boxes. The children enjoyed the rainforest area and exploring the natural materials and engaging in a range of loose parts play. Thank you to all the educators for all the planning and ensuring the children had a fun filled two weeks. A massive thank you to Bec as well for all the planning and hard work with organising the menu and ensuring the children had a range of delicious meals throughout the two weeks.
Sickness
We have been notified of a case of Chicken Pox that has been reported at ROSHC. Can you please watch your child of any symptoms. They will appear 14-16 days after exposure. A rash will usually appear on the stomach and back and spreads to the face, arms and legs. A rash appears to be small water blisters, and your child may have a fever or stomachache for the first few days before the rash appears. In a day or two the rash will form crusts that will remain for a few days and as the blisters spread, some will be healing as new ones appear. Your child will need to remain at home until all blisters are crusted over as they are contagious until that time. Please notify ROSHC and the school if your child has chicken pox.
Lost Property
Families can you please ensure that your child’s belongings are labelled and easily read as this ensures that they can be returned to the rightful owner. We have a large range of lost property at the moment at ROSHC and the pink containers are located in the foyer. If your child is missing something, can you please check this regularly. Every Friday we do take unnamed belongings down to the section on the veranda where the school’s property is located.
Bookings
Please be aware you will only be able to make bookings if you have your account all set up with us, so please ensure you have finished the enrolment process first. If you would like permanent bookings, email our office roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au and we can talk to you about this and if we have available spaces we can arrange those bookings for you in xplor. If you are wanting casual bookings this is done via the xplor app and you will be notified of the outcome via the app and an email or phone call if unable to accept the booking. If you are unsure on how to do casual bookings please come and see the office educators and we can help you, or alternatively all the information on this is in the setup of the xplor app. Please notify us via email if any of your details have changed and we will update them in our system.
Absentees
If you have a booking at the service and your child goes home early from school, is absent or not coming for either BSC or ASC please let us know via your Xplor app (preferred option) or email roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au as soon as possible. You can also notify us via the phone 46177388 or our mobile number 0421 647 404. Please note there will be a $5 fee added if you do not inform us that your child/ren are going to be absent and we need to phone you on that particular afternoon.
Looking for Educators
If you have any family members, friends or know of anyone who is interested in working in Outside School Hours Care, please inform us or encourage them to contact us via email or phone. We are looking for new educators to join our thriving and innovative team.
Thanks
ROSHC Team
Lost Property

Please remember if your child/ren has misplaced a jumper, hat or lunchbox and water bottle it may be located near the Uniform shop on the verandah. We encourage you to please clearly name the items as we have volunteers who sort and return to classes.
Any items of great value such as glasses, watches etc will be handed into the office for collection.
