School Watch
The School Watch program encourages everyone to look out for and report any after-hours crime in our schools.
Empty schools can become targets for unlawful entry, arson, stealing, graffiti and property damage, especially during school holiday periods. This comes at a cost to the whole community and not just the financial cost of repairs.
The School Watch program is a partnership between the Department of Education and Protective Services Group, Queensland Police Service, providing a way for members of the community to report anything they see that is suspicious, even if it seems minor.
On average, more than 700 calls are made to School Watch every year, helping to keep our schools safe.
Look, Listen, Report. Call School Watch on 13 17 88.
If you see a crime in progress, call Triple Zero (000).
Happy Holidays
Wishing all of our students, families and staff a wonderful holiday break. We look forward to welcoming you back for Term Three beginning Monday 14 July.

Prep KV
This week during our buddy visit with Year 6Q the Prep KV children enjoyed learning how to play ball games such as Captain Ball and Tunnel Ball in the school hall. Thank you to Mr Quilty for helping to coordinate such enjoyable experiences each Friday afternoon with our class. The leadership shown by Year 6Q during these valuable visits is to be commended.

1CH
To conclude our information text unit about Australian animals and begin our new procedural text unit, 1CH decorated koala biscuits. We then wrote a list of ingredients and four steps for the method. This was a fun way to end the term!

Year 1
This week, the Year 1 classrooms invited families to explore the amazing work of the students in showcasing their information reports. This was an exciting time for the students to share their writing amongst other learning and activities in each of their classrooms. Thank you to families for taking time out of your day to share in your child’s learning.

Chappy Corner
Chappy Week Fun!
We had a fantastic time celebrating Chappy Week at school this term! It was so lovely to see students getting involved and enjoying the activities. Throughout the week, students took part in a school-wide scavenger hunt and got creative with chalk drawing during break times. It was a wonderful way to connect, have fun, and celebrate the role of chaplaincy in our school community.
As part of the celebrations, we also held a Chappy Week Drawing Competition, where students were invited to create a portrait of me - Chappy Tiff. It was so much fun seeing the creativity and effort that went into each entry—what a talented bunch we have at our school! A big congratulations to Elena from Prep, who was selected as the winner. Well done, Elena!
As we wrap up the term, I just want to take a moment to wish all of our families a safe, restful, and joy-filled holiday break. I hope it’s a time of fun and togetherness, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again next term!
Warm wishes,
Chappy Tiff

QParents

QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing mllew16@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 7333 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your child's unique EQID. Your child's EQID can also be found on your child's Semester Report Card.

Rangeville Outside School Hours Care Services
Rangeville Outside Hours School Care services are available for families if you need before school care, after school care or vacation care. If you want to know more about what is available, please contact the staff located in the Big Hall (W Block). There is also information on the P&C website www.rsspandc.com.au or email at roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au
Reminder to Parents
For the safety of your children and the others using the service, we need to contact parents or emergency contacts, resulting in a time lapse where we cannot find a child. This is a safety risk due to not having the staff ratios while we search for the children absent.
There are multiple ways to notify the service if your child is not attending a session:
- Record an absence via the Xplor App - go to attendance mark as absent (this is the preferred method)
- Call the service - 46177388 and leave a message
- Text through to the mobile - 0421 647 404 (leave a detailed text, Child's full name, date not attending)
- Email the service at roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au
If your child is absent from School, you still need to notify the service as we are independent to the school and due to Confidentiality, they are not authorised to notify us of your child's absence.
If we cannot reach the primary contact, emergency contacts are called and if these contacts cannot be reached, THE POLICE WILL BE CALLED.
If you are returning a call, please press EXT 4 to connect directly to the service. If not answered, please leave a message or text the mobile immediately.
If you do not notify us, you will incur a $5 penalty fee, as we are spending considerable time trying to find these absent children in the school grounds.
If this occurs more than 3 times, we may consider reviewing your enrolment.

Fun Activities – Over the last couple of weeks, the children have been focusing on their social and emotional wellbeing and forming positive relationships with their peers. We have also been focusing on encouraging the children to include a range of new and different peers within their play. The children have enjoyed engaging in a range of hands-on activities both within large and small group play for this to occur. We have also been having numerous discussions with the children and gathering their thoughts and ideas about the concept of friendships and our PBL focuses for the week. The children have loved our cooking with the children prog ram throughout the term where they can make their afternoon tea with the Educators. This teaches the children a range of different mathematical concepts such as measuring and language with following a recipe. The children are also learning lifelong skills which they will take with them throughout their future.
Vacation Care The children are looking forward to the upcoming Winter Vacation Care and there is a range of activities and experiences on offer such as a wildlife incursion, sports day, music incursion and we are off to the movies. Families, please make sure your bookings and cancellations are done via the Xplor App, and the permission forms are filled out, signed and returned and emailed as soon as possible. If the permission forms are not filled out and signed, your child/ren are unable to participate in these incursions and excursions on the day. Families, can we also ensure that children throughout Vacation care have appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather – enclosed footwear, sun safe broad brimmed hat, spare clothes and a water bottle. Can we also ensure that their belongings are labelled with their names so that they can be returned to the rightful owner.
Lost Property
Families can you please ensure that your child’s belongings are labelled and easily read as this ensures that they can be returned to the rightful owner. We have a large range of lost property at the moment at ROSHC, and the pink containers are located in the foyer. If your child is missing something, can you please check this regularly. Every Friday we do take unnamed belongings down to the section on the veranda where the school’s property is located.
Bookings
Please be aware you will only be able to make bookings if you have your account all set up with us, so please ensure you have finished the enrolment process first. If you would like permanent bookings, email our office roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au and we can talk to you about this and if we have available spaces, we can arrange those bookings for you in xplor. If you are wanting casual bookings this is done via the xplor app, and you will be notified of the outcome via the app and an email or phone call if unable to accept the booking. If you are unsure on how to do casual bookings please come and see the office educators and we can help you, or alternatively all the information on this is in the setup of the xplor app. Please notify us via email if any of your details have changed and we will update them in our system.
Absentees
If you have a booking at the service and your child goes home early from school, is absent or not coming for either BSC or ASC please let us know via your Xplor app (preferred option) or email roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au as soon as possible. You can also notify us via the phone 46177388 or our mobile number 0421 647 404. Please note there will be a $5 fee added if you do not inform us that your child/ren are going to be absent and we need to phone you on that particular afternoon.
Looking for Educators
If you have any family members, friends or know of anyone who is interested in working in Outside School Hours Care, please inform us or encourage them to contact us via email or phone. We are looking for new educators to join our thriving and innovative team.
Thanks
ROSHC Team
