Principal's Celebration
We are excited to see you at our Junior Athletics Carnival scheduled for this Thursday. Please see the Sports News Article for more details.
As we come to the final week of another successful term, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the achievements and accomplishments of our students.
This term has been filled with learning, challenges and opportunities for every child to demonstrate the values that underpin our school community: being safe, respectful learners.
In classrooms, on the playground and during extra-curriculum activities, our students have shown a strong commitment to creating a safe environment for all.
We are incredibly proud of the way students engage respectfully with one another, staff and visitors. Whether through kind words, active listening or supporting one another, we are committed to building a strong, inclusive community where everyone feels valued.
Our students continue to demonstrate their commitment to learning, taking on challenges with determination, demonstrating curiosity and interest in the opportunities provided by our staff.
On behalf of the Rangeville SS staff, we thank you for your ongoing support of our school as we continue to work together to ensure students are learning, achieving and growing every day.
We wish you a restful and safe holiday period and look forward to seeing you in Term 4, refreshed and ready for another exciting term!
Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week
This week we celebrated our Teacher Aides. The role of Teacher Aides is essential to the success of our students and the smooth operation of our classrooms. We are fortunate to have a dedicated, compassionate and supportive group of Teacher Aides whose impact is felt by every student and teacher every day. We thank our Teacher Aides for their unwavering commitment to our school community.
Seussical the Musical
We are excited to share the hard work and efforts of staff and students at Monday night's Musical.
Special thanks to Mr Henry for his dedication and enthusiasm for enriching student’s lives with the gift of music. Mr Henry spends an enormous amount of his personal time, going above and beyond the expectations of a Music teacher to prepare, plan, teach and collaborate with outside organisations to provide these opportunities for our students. Thank you, Mr Henry!
Special thanks to Toowoomba Regional Council Community Access Fund for the grant towards venue hire and Robertsons Bus and Coaches for their support through transport for our rehearsal.
Thank you to our P&C Association for their efforts with the Musical Raffle. Thank you to those who have donated amazing prizes! Please see the P&C article below and consider supporting the local businesses that have supported us!

Welcome to our new Deputy Principal
This week, we welcomed Lana Griffiths to our school.
HELLO AND THANK YOU!
My name is Lana Griffiths, and I am thrilled to join our wonderful school community as Deputy Principal responsible for special needs education. It is a privilege to be part of a school that clearly values and takes pride in diversity, inclusion and the unique strengths that every child brings to our learning environment. I look forward to working collaboratively with our students, their families, staff and wider community. Thank you all for your kind welcome to this amazing school!
WHAT IS NEURODIVERSITY?
I am hoping each newsletter to share an update or a reading from our team.
The following is an excerpt from a Tip Sheet by Sue Larkey: Neurodiversity is the concept that neurological differences between people should be recognised and respected. Instead of using terms like ’dys - function’ ‘dis- abilities’ & ‘dis-orders’ neurodiversity is an enabling term that takes into account neurological differences. Neurodiversity is not one size fits all. We are all different and neurodiversity celebrates difference.
AUSTRALIAN TEACHER AIDE APPRECIATION WEEK 2 – 6 September
Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week is the perfect time to celebrate the wonderful work our teacher aides do in our school. Every day, these amazing people help both students and staff, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students can thrive. Thank you to our aides for your unwavering commitment, patience, and the countless ways you make a difference in the lives of our students.
ICAS Dates and Times

1CH
1CH have been learning about natural, managed and constructed features in HASS. We read the 2024 Book Week shortlisted book, The Concrete Garden by Bob Graham. We had lots of fun drawing natural and managed features on the concrete just like the book!
Toowoomba Teams Chess Championship
It was a great pleasure taking two teams of students to the Toowoomba Teams Chess Championships to compete in the junior and senior sections. There were some exciting battles throughout the day with all teams displaying a positive attitude. Our junior team came close to securing a place with the captain winning every one of his games.
Year 6 Brisbane Excursion 2024
On August 13 and 22, Year 6 students went to Brisbane to visit SparkLab (Queensland Museum) and have a traditional Chinese lunch. At SparkLab, they had a chance to be a young scientist exploring and engaging with the 40 interactive stations to learn more about the wonders of the world. They saw and felt electricity as they touched the giant plasma ball and some even figured out how to build a bridge through teamwork. They explored the rest of Queensland Museum afterwards and saw lots of amazing exhibits like live specimens of insects and fossils of dinosaurs. In the afternoon, they ate an 8-course yum cha lunch at Landmark Chinese Restaurant and put their spoken Chinese and chopstick skills to good use.
The feedback received from students was that they had a wonderful day in Brisbane and we the teachers, were glad to be able to provide this educational and cultural experience for them.
Mrs Tay (Language Teacher)
There are amazing activities that you just have to see. It was a brilliant experience for both my friends and me. Sparklab was so fun with many activities and the food at the Chinese restaurant was simply superb and very filling.
Isabel (6H Student)
Prep Vision Screening
Good vision is important for a child’s educational, physical and social development. Vision screening checks for common eye conditions that may impact your child’s ability to see and therefore impact their learning and development.
A Registered Nurse will be visiting the school on 15th, 17th & 18th October 2024 to conduct vision screening for children in their prep year.
If you wish to have your prep child participate in this FREE vision screening program, please complete a consent form, this can be done online until Monday 8th May (Midnight) or paper forms can be handed in up until and including screening day morning.
Participation in this free vision screening program is not compulsory. If you do not wish for your child to participate in screening, please complete the consent form and indicate that you wish to decline screening.
Parents do not need to be present for screening, however if you would like to be, please contact the school to arrange this.
If you have concerns about your child’s eyes at any time, please take your child to see an eye health professional (optometrist/ophthalmologist).
For further information, please scan the below QR code to visit the Program website or contact the Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program on 1800 687 372.
Online consent forms will available from 5th June or you can find a paper copy in the school office.
Carbal Health Hearing Screening
Carbal Health will be providing hearing screenings at Rangeville State School on Tuesday 15th October.
We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity by completing the consent form and submitting it to the school office. Copies of the consent form will be available from the office.
Invoices from Carbal will be sent home with participating students.
For any additional information or enquiries, we encourage you to contact Carbal directly on 1300 379 558.
QParents
QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing mllew16@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 733 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your childs unique EQID. Your child's EQID can also be found on your child's Semester Report Card.
