Principal's Celebration
Book Week
Today brings us to the end of Book Week for 2024.
This week has been a wonderful opportunity to have a spotlight on the incredible power of reading. It is not just a fundamental skill but a doorway to new worlds, ideas and possibilities.
It was such a treat to have so many of our school community come together this morning to celebrate books and the joy they bring. Thank you to those who were able to join in for our magic carpet story time.
Special thanks to Jacqui Mohr who has planned and coordinated our Book Week activities. Thank you to Danielle Clowes for Potion Classes this week, Tori Watson for being our mystery magician and to Troy Stanton, Deb Horncy, Kath Farmer and Matthew Henry for ensuring our paved area looked and sounded fantastic.
Thank you to all staff for their commitment to fostering a love of reading in our students.
In the words of Dr Seuss, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

Class News
6T - Term 3 certainly has been busy in 6T! We have enjoyed starting our day in the sunshine with our class morning circle. Following morning circle, we begin with number facts and fluency.
In this picture, we were using the divisibility rules to determine the number properties of larger numbers. In Maths we have been exploring integers and made a 6T number line.
During English, students have been researching a holiday destination to write a persuasive text about. We were lucky to have Mrs Horncy join us this week when we were co-constructing a persuasive text. Adding to the excitement of Book Week, 6T students had a magical time creating potions during a lunchtime activity.
Toowoomba Teams Chess Championship
The Toowoomba Teams Chess Championship is on Tuesday 27 August. Parents and carers are responsible for transport to and from the event on the day. Please see attached for further details.
Please email Mrs Prue Cunningham at pcunn1@eq.edu.au with your child’s name and class if you are interested in the lessons or competition.
2024 Solid Pathways STEM University Experience Day Southern Queensland University Toowoomba Campus
Rangeville Solid Pathways students joined with several other schools, in our region and participated in a fabulous day filled with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at the University of Southern Queensland Toowoomba Campus.

Pyjama Day
Student Council is fundraising for the Pyjama Foundation on Monday 26 August. We are asking all staff and students to wear pyjamas to school and bring a gold coin donation if they are able.
National Pyjama Day is all about wearing your favourite pair of PJ's to help The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care.
With the money raised from National Pyjama Day, you’ll be helping offer learning skills to more than 1000 children, fund educational resources and help provide stable, positive relationships.
Prep Vision Screening
Good vision is important for a child’s educational, physical and social development. Vision screening checks for common eye conditions that may impact your child’s ability to see and therefore impact their learning and development.
A Registered Nurse will be visiting the school on 15th, 17th & 18th October 2024 to conduct vision screening for children in their prep year.
If you wish to have your prep child participate in this FREE vision screening program, please complete a consent form, this can be done online until Monday 8th May (Midnight) or paper forms can be handed in up until and including screening day morning.
Participation in this free vision screening program is not compulsory. If you do not wish for your child to participate in screening, please complete the consent form and indicate that you wish to decline screening.
Parents do not need to be present for screening, however if you would like to be, please contact the school to arrange this.
If you have concerns about your child’s eyes at any time, please take your child to see an eye health professional (optometrist/ophthalmologist).
For further information, please scan the below QR code to visit the Program website or contact the Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program on 1800 687 372.
Online consent forms will available from 5th June or you can find a paper copy in the school office.
QParents
QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing mllew16@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 733 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your childs unique EQID. Your child's EQID can also be found on your child's Semester Report Card.

Tuckshop Renovation
Our Tuckshop is undergoing a long-awaited renovation! Whilst work is being undertaken, we kindly ask that staff, students and families not approach the tradesman whilst they are working at the Tuckshop to help minimise disruption. We welcome you to direct any questions to the office or via email admin@rangevilless.eq.edu.au
To ensure that we can continue to offer nutritious meals to our students, we have temporarily moved the Tuckshop to P Block. We'd like to acknowledge Nicky and her wonderful volunteers Sarndra and Merryl who spent countless hours relocating stock and supplies and coordinating the removal of ovens, fridges and warmers to P Block, thank you! A big thank you to our specialist teachers in P Block for warmly welcoming their new neighbours!
Due to reduced capacity in our temporary location, some menu items may become unavailable. However, Flexischools will remain up to date for placing orders. If an item is unavailable, it won't be listed for purchase.
We would like to thank all our volunteers that assist at the Tuckshop each week. We are always looking for volunteers so please let us know if you are interested.

Lost Property
The Uniform Shop verandah is currently inundated with winter jumpers, tracksuit pants, lunchboxes, and water bottles. Due to the recent rain activity, unfortunately a lot of items are now wet. If your child has lost a jumper this winter season, please have them visit the Uniform Shop to retrieve it as soon as possible. At the end of the Term, any unclaimed items are removed.
We kindly ask you to clearly label these items, as our volunteers assist in sorting and returning them to their respective classes.
Any valuable items, such as glasses or watches, will be securely stored in the office for collection.
