National Swimming Championships
Hugo W is proudly representing his school, family and state at the National Swimming Championships in Southport this week.
Today, Hugo swam brilliantly in the heats of the 50m Backstroke placing 6th fastest overall and awarded a place in the Final for the event.
This is a HUGE effort and a great result for the massive commitment he has put in with the many hours of training. In the Final, he swam a slightly slower time than earlier in the day but was still able to place 9th overall.
Congratulations once again on this fine achievement, Hugo!
NAIDOC Celebrations
Last week, we celebrated NAIDOC Week. Held across the country, NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Thank you to Courtney Lindgren for organising our school celebrations throughout the week.
Thank you to our community members who came to our NAIDOC Parade and joined us for cake afterwards.
Congratulations to our students for their presentations on Parade.
School Opinion Survey for Parents and Caregivers
The suite of School Opinion Surveys is undertaken each year by the Department of Education to obtain opinions about our school from families, school staff and students in Years 5 & 6. The surveys will help identify what we are doing well and understand where we can improve.
The survey invitation has been emailed in the week beginning 15 July and is titled "School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2024."
Each school family will receive one email invitation from the Department of Education to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey.
The survey is anonymous, and the results are not reported in ways that an individual’s response can be identified by the school.
Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to complete the survey. The survey can be completed via computers, tablets or smart phones with an internet connection.
Parents/caregivers who experience difficulties accessing the survey can request a new survey from the School Opinion Survey team via email schoolopinionsurvey@qed.qld.gov.au.
Staffing Updates
We wish Courney Lindgren all the very best as she begins her maternity leave at the end of this week. Courtney has been part of the Rangeville SS team for the past 2 years and will be missed. We are excited for her next adventure as she welcomes her baby.
Freya Worrall will be joining our team on Year 3L beginning Monday next week. Welcome Freya!
We have welcomed Alison Kowitz into Prep G this term. Mrs Newton is enjoying a well-deserved holiday for the term. Alison has joined us from Karara SS.

Pyjama Day
Student Council is fundraising for the Pyjama Foundation on Monday 26 August. We are asking all staff and students to wear pyjamas to school and bring a gold coin donation if they are able.
National Pyjama Day is all about wearing your favourite pair of PJ's to help The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care.
With the money raised from National Pyjama Day, you’ll be helping offer learning skills to more than 1000 children, fund educational resources and help provide stable, positive relationships.
PBL Lesson - Bullying No Way
The National Week of action for “Bullying No Way” is being held in week 6 this term. There will be some lunchtime activities offered to the students.
Teachers will be using our Week 6 and 7 PBL lessons to discuss the topic. A free dress day will be held for all students on Friday 16th August. The colour is orange.
Please note Years 5 and 6 students are invited to wear orange in the morning and change into their sports shirts for their sports activities. More information will be coming home to families soon regarding activities and information.
Prep Vision Screening
Good vision is important for a child’s educational, physical and social development. Vision screening checks for common eye conditions that may impact your child’s ability to see and therefore impact their learning and development.
A Registered Nurse will be visiting the school on 15th, 17th & 18th October 2024 to conduct vision screening for children in their prep year.
If you wish to have your prep child participate in this FREE vision screening program, please complete a consent form, this can be done online until Monday 8th May (Midnight) or paper forms can be handed in up until and including screening day morning.
Participation in this free vision screening program is not compulsory. If you do not wish for your child to participate in screening, please complete the consent form and indicate that you wish to decline screening.
Parents do not need to be present for screening, however if you would like to be, please contact the school to arrange this.
If you have concerns about your child’s eyes at any time, please take your child to see an eye health professional (optometrist/ophthalmologist).
For further information, please scan the below QR code to visit the Program website or contact the Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program on 1800 687 372.
Online consent forms will available from 5th June or you can find a paper copy in the school office.

If you've recently changed your contact details like email address, mobile number, home address, family circumstances, workplace, or emergency contacts, please reach out to us at admin@rangevilless.eq.edu.au or give us a call at 4617 7333. This way, we can ensure your information is current and keep you in the loop. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
QParents
QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing mllew16@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 733 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your childs unique EQID. Your child's EQID can also be found on your child's Semester Report Card.
