Principal's Celebration
It was exciting to welcome students and families back to school on Monday morning, eager and ready for another great term at Rangeville State School!
Term One seemed to fly by and, with a busy calendar already, I imagine Term Two will be the same. Thank you for supporting our staff by ensuring your child comes to school prepared for the day.
At the end of Term One, our whole school attendance rate was 93.1%.
Prep - 94% | Year 3 - 93.2% |
Year 1 - 91.7% | Year 4 - 93.7% |
Year 2 - 91.9% | Year 5 - 92.7% |
Year 6 - 93% |
Student Leaders attend the Mayoral Morning Tea
On Thursday, our Student Leaders, Cooper, Norah, Shawen and Rex attended the annual Mayoral Morning Tea.
This year, 51 primary schools attended the event with Mayor Geoff McDonald, Cr Carol Taylor, Cr Kerry Shine, Cr Edwina Farquahar and Cr Trevor Manteufel. During Mayor McDonald's address, he gave three challenges to the leaders present.
1. Think about your personal values
2. Consider a legacy the leadership team will leave
3. Celebrate your successes
He reminded all present that leaders are looked upon by others, that we have two eyes, two ears and one mouth and we should use them in the same quantities. He shared his personal values connected with the acronym of GREAT - Grateful, Respectful, Energetic Attitude, Trustworthy.
We also heard from Back Plains & Gabbinbar State Schools and Holy Name Primary School students and their thoughts on Leadership. Back Plains State School students Taylor and Imogen spoke of the unique opportunity of leaders to inspire others.
Students also used this opportunity to interact with other leaders.
Congratulations and thank you to Rex, Shawen, Norah and Cooper for being respectful and attentive representatives of our school.
Music Immersion Day
On the last day of Term One, 38 of our students attended the CHSHS Music Immersion Day. Special thanks to Mr Henry, Mrs Johansen and Mr Gray for their work with our students on a weekly basis.
The concert on Thursday night was an absolute showcase of the incredible work that happens with our Music teachers across many schools and in particular through our partnerships with CHSHS.
Thank you to our families who support students with practise at home, lessons and rehearsals at school. Students are excelling!
Outstanding Efforts
I continue to be impressed by the extraordinary achievements of students at school, when representing our school and at outside school events.
Congratulations to the following students:
Over the weekend of Week 9, Diego R won Gold medals in the 70m, 100m, 200m and 400m events and Bronze in Long Jump events at the State Little Athletics Championships.
On Wednesday of Week 10, Hugo W won the 10 years Backstroke at the State Swimming Trials, swimming a personal best. He will swim at the Nationals Titles.
Earlier this week, Danish P's entry in the Makers Empire monthly design competition was selected as the winning entry from nearly 4000 designs in the competition.

Maker's Empire Celebration
We have had many students excitedly using the Maker's Empire software to create designs in 3D. One of our students has won the monthly competition.
The judges were impressed by Danish's 'A Sunda Island Tiger' entry in the Wonderful Wildlife Makers Empire competition. Danish's entry showed great design skills and attention to detail. His tiger design is fantastic and definitely shows an animal that needs our help to survive.

Parking at Peak Times
As our school community continues to grow, parking around our School, especially during peak times, can become quite challenging. We kindly ask for your cooperation and mindfulness, particularly when parking on Loveday Street.
While we understand that space is limited, it's essential to be considerate of our neighbours and their accessibility. Please refrain from blocking driveways and ensure that you leave enough space for others when parking.
Thank you for your understanding. It helps us maintain positive relationships with our neighbours and ensures the safety and convenience of everyone in our community.

QParents
QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing mllew16@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 733 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your childs unique EQID. Your child's EQID can also be found on your child's Semester Report Card.

Vacation Care
We explored many different areas of imagination, creativity, active sportsmanship, spontaneous play, relaxation, problem solving, researching and investigating and finding new found confidence all throughout the vacation care period. Whether it was children’s first time being at vacation care or they had been many times before, there was something to keep every one busy or as busy as they chose to be. Many of the children enjoyed having the time to relax and read a book, others were happy to be as active as possible and get involved in every activity planned. Children had a fun escape to Sunset Superbowl in the first week. This day filled up extremely fast when it went out and it was easy to see why when you looked at the children’s faces as we geared up to go bowling. There were so many laughs, funny excited little dance moves, lots of excited jumping as so many of the children got a strike or a spare and just a lot of fun was had, it was a great morning out had by all.
We have been chatting to the children about the June/July holidays and starting to gather activities that interest the children to come up with some fun days full of activities to interest all children.
If there are any parents/caregivers have any activities they would like to see the children doing or maybe wanting to do an activity with the children please come and talk with the office educators we would love to see some more community input in our programmed activities.

Any valuable items, such as glasses or watches, will be securely stored in the office for collection.
