Principal's Celebration
Challenge and celebration have been the themes of the last two weeks at Rangeville.
We celebrated the Year Six Cohorts achievements last week at the annual awards night where our students were recognised for the academic, sporting, musical and social achievements. As always, the night was an amazing celebration for our student’s achievements and our parents and staff were very proud of their children. Well done to all of our staff and community who organised and delivered the night.
This week our Year Six students are attending the annual Tallebudgera week long camp. I had the pleasure of participating in this camp on Wednesday. This is always a privilege to see our students and staff in a different environment. They have been having an amazing time despite the wet weather – if there was ever a camp to go on in wet weather, its Tallebudgera, they have such wonderful indoor and outdoor activities! The activities are always amazing – providing new and challenging experiences for all. The camp instructors are absolutely wonderful with our students and the food and accommodation has been exceptional. Our children and staff are having a ball and ensuring the Rangeville excellent name is maintained in this environment.
Congratulations to the 12 Student Leaders who have been announced today as our 2024 Student Leadership Group. Their names and positions are shown in a later newsletter article.
We had 55 high quality applicants across all leadership areas and the quality of the students who missed out on a leadership role marks the depth and quality of the announced students. While for those who missed out the immediate disappointment is very real, not recieving a badge does not define them now and into the future and we know they will deeply contribute to life and success of Rangeville next year.
Staffing and Transition News
Today we took the opportunity to recognise the wonderful career of Mrs Diane Grundy who has officially announced her retirement after 44 years of teaching. Di has and continues to be a well respected and loved educator whose kind, caring and calm presence is equally matched by her sense of fun and enjoyment with the children each and every day. Her positive and significant impact on the lives of the thousands of children and families she has taught and guided over the years is remarkable. We wish Di and her family all the best in this next chapter and look forward to seeing the pictures from future adventures.
Thank you also to Miss Irwin who will begin a new adventure in education and life next year. Miss Irwin will be relocating to teach in Gove in the Northern Territory next year. We can’t wait to hear about and see her next adventures and look forward to her return in the future.
Thank you, ladies, for helping our students Learn, Achieve and Grow every day.
It is with great pleasure that I can inform our community that Miss Casey Edminstone, Mr Brendan Quilty and Mr Naiden Gray (Instrumental Music) will be joining our school in 2024. With this wonderful news, we have finalised our staffing and class placements for 2024 and will be releasing these by email on Monday in time for our Whole School Transition morning on Tuesday morning – 9:30 am to 11:30am. This will see our students meet their 2024 teacher (where possible) and spend some time in their future room completing some get to know you activities and eating and playing in their future areas.
In 2024 our Class Structure and allocated teachers will be:
Current Australian Representative
Congratulations to our 2023 School Leader, Eli B, who is currently representing Australia at an international Futsal competition in Malaysia. The team are doing a wonderful job representing Australia, learning a great deal and enjoying this wonderful opportunity. Well done Eli!
As this will be the last official newsletter for 2023, on behalf of myself, my family and my entire staff, I’d like wish you all a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year. We look forward to continuing our partnership in education with you all in 2024 and look forward to starting the New Year on 22 January 2024.

Collection of Student Medication - Important Information
We are getting closer to the end of the school term and this means we need to ensure there is no medication left at school over the Christmas holidays. This includes prescribed medications, asthma puffers and Epipens. Parents/caregivers are required to please collect all student medication from the office by the end of the last day of term, Friday 8th December 2023. You will be asked to complete a new Consent to Administer Medication Form when you handover medications on the first day of term, Monday 22nd January 2024. You are welcome to fill in the form at the office or find it below.
Class Allocation 2024
On Monday 4 December Class Allocation information will be emailed home to families. Class teachers and administration have spent many hours determining class lists and considering the feedback provided by parents. However, depending on enrolments, some class adjustments may need to be made after Day 8, 2024. This is the day determined by Education Queensland that may see staffing changes depending on student enrolment numbers. Therefore, when preparing your child’s stationary and other resources over the holidays, please do not label them with the class name.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s class allocation, please place them in writing via principal@rangevilless.eq.edu.au

Congratulations Alera and our Year 2 Students!
It is with so much joy that we extend our congratulations to our Year 2 students for their outstanding achievements at the recent Little Scribe Festival. The festival, dedicated to nurturing young writers, saw an incredible display of creativity from students across Australia, with more than 35,000 young authors participating.
We are especially thrilled to celebrate the accomplishment of one of our own, Alera, who has not only showcased her writing and illistrative expertise but has also brought national recognition to our school. Alera's book, "The Lost Dogs! Missing," stood out among the thousands of submissions, earning her a well-deserved place in the spotlight.
"The Lost Dogs! Missing" captured the hearts of readers and judges alike with its imaginative narrative, showcasing Alera's unique perspective and storytelling talent. The book not only reflects Alera's dedication to storytelling but also highlights the creativity that thrives within our Rangeville Stae School community.
As we celebrate this achievement, let us also take a moment to applaud all our Year 2 students who participated in the Little Scribe Festival. Each of you has contributed to the vibrant tapestry of creativity that defines our school.
A special thank you to the parents, teachers, and everyone who played a role in nurturing our budding authors. Your encouragement and guidance have played a crucial part in shaping the literary stars of tomorrow.
Once again, congratulations to Alera and all our Year 2 students for their success at the Little Scribe Festival. We look forward to witnessing the continued growth of our young writers as they embark on their literary journeys.
To watch a reading of Alera's book, please follow Little Scribe Facebook link below.

Bus Queensland Information
QParents
QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing mllew16@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 733 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your childs unique EQID. Please see the attached factsheet for more information.

Our program is now published and bookings are open to all ROSHC families and places are filling quickly. We will be doing lots of water play during the last two weeks of vacation care so please remember to pack togs (sun safe), spare clothes and a towel every day you are coming along with the usual broad brim hat and water bottle. Our vacation care policy for absent days is different to during the term and does require a 7-day notice of absence.
Temporary Relocation
At ROSHC we are gearing up for a temporary relocation process from the 11th to the 22nd of December. Families of ROSHC will receive a letter outlining very important information to make this transition as smooth as we can so please ensure to check emails.
The new location will be at the Rangeville Community Church, 362 Mackenzie Street, Rangeville. Parking is available at the Mackenzie street car park and we will have signage to the access gate. You will sign children in via Xplor as usual, the service will run from 6:30am to 6:00pm and we will only be contactable via our mobile - 0421 647 404 or email roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au We will not have the landline for these two weeks. Be advised that due to relocation we do not have access to kitchen facilities so children will need to bring packed morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea from the 11th to the 22nd of December we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Holiday Closure
Please take note that our centre will be closed from Monday 25th December 2023 and will reopen at Rangeville state school at 6:30am on Monday 8th January 2024. For any additional queries or information, feel free to reach out to the ROSHC via email at roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au.
Absentees
If you have a booking at the service and your child goes home early from school, is absent or not coming for either BSC or ASC please let us know via your Xplor app (preferred option) or email roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au as soon as possible.
Lost Property
If your child has misplaced any personal items, we kindly ask you to check their classrooms or stop by our Lost and Found area, conveniently located on the verandah near the Uniform Shop. This is where we gather and keep items that might have been left behind in classrooms, on the playground, or elsewhere around the school.
Right now, our Lost and Found is brimming with lunchboxes and water bottles, so if your child is missing any of these, we encourage you to have a quick look there. For more precious items like glasses and watches, our administration office is the place to go, as we securely store them there. Our administration office is currently located in P Block.
Labeling your child's belongings with their name and class can be a tremendous help in reuniting lost items with their owners. Please keep in mind that any unclaimed items at the end of each term will be collected and removed. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
