Principal's News
Wow what an enormous Term Three Rangeville has had – all of the events, activities and excursions have demonstrated with excellence The Rangeville Way. Term Three has been very busy with many events occurring alongside the most important work within and outside the classrooms with our students, parents and the community. There have been some wonderful highlights amongst the diverse range of events that have occurred this term including: Range Athletics, ICAS, Eisteddfod, Year Six Cultural Day, Book Week, Get Set for Prep, Parent Teacher Interviews, Junior Atletics Carnival, a very successful and enjoyable Musical (Monday 11 September) to name a few events that have occurred. Our student’s, staff and community deserve a well earnt and safe break.
Junior Athletics Carnival Success
What an incredible day we had on Thursday 31 August celebrating our students' athletic prowess, sportsmanship, and exemplary conduct at the Junior Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to all participants for their exceptional individual and team achievements on this memorable day.
Thank you to our Centenary Heights Senior Hospitality Students, who, in partnership with our Rangeville P&C, operated the coffee and baked goods stall, providing invaluable real-life hospitality experience to their Senior Students and a delightful onsite café experience for our school and community.
We extend our gratitude to our dedicated staff for their meticulous organisation, unwavering efforts, and steadfast support in making this Junior Athletics Carnival a resounding success.
Semester Two Parent Teacher Interviews
We extend our gratitude to the 287 families who joined us on Tuesday, September 5th, for a remarkable 489 Parent-Teacher Interviews at our W Block Hall. Your unwavering support and dedication to your children's education truly embodies our motto: Learning, Achieving, and Growing every day. Thank you for being incredible partners in this journey.
Uniform and Grooming Guidelines: Term 4 Focus
As part of our commitment to a focused, positive and safe learning environment, students are reminded to adhere to the Rangeville State School Student Code of Conduct. To maintain and achieve our high expectations, Term 4 will see a deliberate and consistent effort to seeing our students adhering to wearing our correct school uniform with pride each and every day. Jewellery is limited to medical alerts, stud earrings, sleepers, and watches. Nail polish is to be removed, and hair tied if it reaches the collar. Please note our "No Hat - No Play" policy; wear a wide-brimmed hat while playing in the playground. Thank you for helping us maintain our positive school atmosphere!
School Musical Celebration: Disney's production of 'The Aristocats Kids'
Get ready for a night of enchantment as we celebrate our Musical Excellence Program and Upper School Musical, Disney's production of 'The Aristocats Kids'. On this grand occasion at the Empire Theatre, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Music Department, led by the incredible Mr. Henry, and all staff who've poured their energy and dedication into making this showcase possible.
To our talented musicians and performers, we wish you the best of luck on the big night – your hard work and dedication shine through.
A special shout-out goes to our wonderful P&C and Music families for their tireless efforts in organising the music raffle, raising vital funds for our Musical Excellence Program.
We also want to express our gratitude to the generous sponsors who've donated prizes for the raffles. To our lucky winners on the night, congratulations – your support is greatly appreciated!
On behalf of my entire staff, we wish all of our students and families a safe and restful Spring Break and we look forward to continuing Learning, Achieving and Growing every day in the Rangeville Way!

ICAS News
I would like to congratulate the 27 talented students who have taken part in the ICAS competition this year.
ICAS required these students to apply skills and knowledge to novel situations presented as problems to be solved.
Many sat a range of assessments across all the curriculum, where as others only chose the areas in which they were most interested. They have handled these tasks with enthusiasm and great competency.
Students were asked questions that crossed curriculum categories which promoted problem solving, analysis and reasoning using successful proficiency of the skills and knowledge covered in class. Every test included some questions that revealed the strengths of even the weakest students and challenged even the most able. It enabled students to show their depth of learning.
All assessments have now been completed and the students will receive their certificates which will be presented as they arrive.
Thanks to parents, teachers, administration and students for you co-operation and assistance.
Kind regards
Judy Keightley
ICAS Co-ordinator
Upcoming: Information Sessions for Parents – PBL (Behaviour)
We are excited to announce upcoming information sessions on key aspects of PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning), which is an essential part of our curriculum at Rangeville State School. These free sessions will be held twice a term, on Tuesday afternoons in week 5 and 9, from 2:15-2:45pm (see dates below).
Our focus during these sessions is to share the principles of each topic based on research, show how the school implement these practices, reflect on ways this can be adapted to home, and allow for question-and-answer time.
Please email Nelson McGrath nemcg0@eq.edu.au if you are interested in attending any of the sessions or if you have any further questions.
Date | Term and Week | Topic |
31/10/23 | Term 4, Week 5 | Corrective Strategies |
28/11/23 | Term 4, Week 9 | Bullying |
We look forward to seeing you at these sessions, and thank you for your ongoing support.
QParents
QParents is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
QParents provides secure, online access to student information such as:
- attendance details
- consent forms
- payment of invoices
- payment history
- behaviour
- report cards and assessment dates
- upcoming events
- timetables
- student photo
In addition to the information provided, it's important to note that the QParents portal only sends invoices to the parent/carer who is responsible for 100% of the student's school fees. This means that if there are multiple parents or carers who share responsibility for fees, only one of them will receive the invoice through the portal. It's important for parents and carers to communicate and coordinate payment arrangements if they are sharing the responsibility for fees.
We encourage you to register for QParents. To do this, simply express your interest by emailing mllew16@eq.edu.au or by phoning 4617 733 and Mrs Llewellyn will email you an invitation to register (which includes your log-in code) and your childs unique EQID. Please see the attached factsheet for more information.

- Broad brimmed hat
- Enclosed shoes
- Wear suitable clothing for play and getting dirty
- Pharmacy labelled medication (if required) and handed to the responsible person in the roshc office.
- We supply children with breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. If your child does bring a lunch box, please take into account when packing food that we are a nut aware service.
Absentees during the term
If you have a booking at the service and your child goes home early from school, is absent or not coming for either BSC or ASC please let us know via your xplor app (preferred option) or email roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au as soon as possible.
Lost Property
If your child has misplaced any personal items, we kindly ask you to check their classrooms or stop by our Lost and Found area, conveniently located on the verandah near the Uniform Shop. This is where we gather and keep items that might have been left behind in classrooms, on the playground, or elsewhere around the school.
Right now, our Lost and Found is brimming with lunchboxes and water bottles, so if your child is missing any of these, we encourage you to have a quick look there. For more precious items like glasses and watches, our administration office is the place to go, as we securely store them there.
Labeling your child's belongings with their name and class can be a tremendous help in reuniting lost items with their owners. Please keep in mind that any unclaimed items at the end of each term will be collected and removed. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
