Principal's News
Challenge and celebration have been the themes of the last two weeks at Rangeville.
We celebrated the Year Six Cohorts achievements last week at the annual awards night where our students were recognised for their academic, sporting, musical and social achievements. As always, the night was an amazing celebration for our students' achievements and our parents and staff were very proud of their children. Well done to all of our staff and community who organised and delivered the night.
This week our Year Six students attended the annual Tallebudgera week long camp. I had the pleasure of participating in this camp on Wednesday. This is always a privilege to see our students and staff in a different environment. They have been having an amazing time despite the wet weather – if there was ever a camp to go on in wet weather, its Tallebudgera. They have such wonderful indoor and outdoor activities! The activities are always amazing – providing new and challenging experiences for all. The camp instructors are absolutely wonderful with our students and the food and accommodation has been exceptional. Our children and staff have had a ball and have ensured the excellent Rangeville name was maintained in this environment.

Staffing and Transition News
It is with great pleasure that I can inform our community that Mrs Brianna O’Connell, Miss Emily Irwin and Mrs Ashleigh Hamilton will be transferring to our school in 2023 and Mrs Sarah Olsen, Miss Brooke Marshall, Mrs Robyn Page and Miss Annabell Tonkin will return to Rangeville in 2023. With this wonderful news, we have finalised our staffing and class placements for 2023 and will be releasing these by email on Monday in time for our Whole School Transition morning on Tuesday morning – 10am to 11am. This will see our students meet their 2023 teacher (where possible) and spend some time in their future room completing some get to know you activities and eating and playing in their future areas.
I’d like to thank Miss Trinity Arday, Miss Molly Holmes and Miss Julie Peters for their efforts and dedication to the students and Rangeville Community this year. Miss Arday is moving overseas, Miss Holmes has received a permanent transfer to Rockville State School and Miss Peters will be working within Toowoomba in another position. Thank you for helping our students Learn, Achieve and Grow every day.
2023 Enrolments
Our enrolments for 2023 are filling fast. Please come and see the office if you have a child eligible for Prep or any other year level next year. Thank you to our families who have indicated their children will not be returning to Rangeville next year.
Attached again to today’s newsletter is a Student Exit Form for those families not returning next year which we request be completed and returned to the office at the earliest convenience. This form has been designed to allow families to directly type into it and email admin@rangevilless.eq.edu.au to make it easier for communication for our families.
This information makes it easier to plan for class make ups.
Returning to School in 2023
On Friday the 20 January 2023 from 1:30pm – 3pm we will be opening our classroom doors and allowing families to drop off book packs in readiness for the start of school. All classrooms from Prep – Year 6 will be available to enable this to occur.
Davis Station Antarctica
Mr David Wardle, father of Eva and Brody, is currently working on Davis Station Antarctica until February 2023. David has been busily communicating with the Prep H class about all of his adventures and travels and keeping our Prep friends updated on the adventures of the class mascot Rosie as well. This week, David also sent a message to all of Rangeville State School via the Davis research station Antarctica webcam. Thank you David for keeping us informed of everything from Antarctica and we wish you all the best for your time down there!
Adventures of Rosie from Antarctica
As this will be the last official newsletter for 2022, on behalf of myself, my family and my entire staff, I’d like wish you all a very merry festive period and a safe and happy new year. We look forward to continuing our partnership in education with you all in 2023 and look forward to starting the New Year on the 23rd of January 2023.

Chess Lessons
Chess lessons will begin in Week 2 of Term 1, 2023.
They will be held:
- In the library for the whole of first break each Wednesday, supervised by Mrs Prue Cunningham;

We need a minimum of 20 children to go ahead with lessons and we will cap it at 25. If your child has attended lessons in Term 4, they will be automatically registered. Otherwise please email Mrs Prue Cunningham at pcunn1@eq.edu.au with your child’s name and class.
Student Medication - Important Information
We are getting closer to the end of the school term and this means we need to ensure there is no medication left at school over the Christmas holidays. This includes prescribed medications, asthma puffers and Epipens. Parents/caregivers are required to please collect any medication from the office at the end of the last day of term, Friday 9th December 2022. You will be asked to complete a new Consent to Administer Medication Form when you handover medications on the first day of term, Monday 23rd January 2023. You are welcome to fill in the form at the office or find it below.
As of the start of Term 1 2023, all medication (including asthma puffers) are required to be stored in the office and administered to the student at the office when needed, unless there are exceptional circumstances, which require approval from our HOSES, Julie Franklin.

Rangeville State School P&C Association Outside School Hours Care (ROSHC)
Well the school year has almost come to an end and we are all set and ready for vacation care here at ROSHC. We hope you can join us! Please remember that if you require bookings for the up and coming vacation care program, they need to be sent via the xplor app only. Many of the activities require a permission form to be signed so please ensure you get them back to us ASAP.
ROSHC will be closed over the Christmas period. Our last day for 2022 will be Wednesday 21st December 2022 and we will be re-opening at 6:30am Tuesday 3rd January 2023.
Please ensure that if you are coming along to vacation care that you check the program. There are days where things start at a certain time and we need all children to be here by the time stated. There are days that we encourage children to dress-up and go along with the theme of the day. There are many days where swimmers or wet clothes are required for the activities planned so children will need towels and spare clothes. Some of the days children can bring in certain things from home to go with the theme of the day so please make sure you check the program.
If you would like to enrol your child with us at ROSHC please email us at roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au and we can email you the link and all the information required to get the process started. For any new families joining us please email any permanent bookings to us and any casual bookings can be done via the xplor app.
We would like to say a big thank you to all our 2022 ROSHC families for all the support and fun we have had this year. Merry Christmas and safe and happy holidays to all of you from the ROSHC Team.
At ROSHC we have adopted a Mercy family again this Christmas. There is still time left to donate. The donations container is stored outside the ROSHC office and will be there until Wednesday 7th December. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
