Principal's News
Welcome Back to Term 4. I hope that everyone had a restful break and is looking forward to a busy and exciting end to the year. Congratulations to all of our classes who have begun the term with such positivity and excitement. It’s great to be back!
Holiday Achievements
Congratulations to Aden, Lincoln, Eli, Harry, Noah, Ryder, Archie, Chris and Lennox who competed at the National School Futsal Titles at Coomera during the first week of the school holidays. The boys’ represented QLD West in the Under 10, 11 and 12 age groups. The Under 11 team made it to the Semi Final undefeated but were beaten by a very good QLD South Coast side 1-2 in the 2nd half of extra time! Congratulations to all boys and their families. We are very proud of their achievements and the way in which they conducted themselves during the tournament.
Congratulations to Noah, who was selected as an Australian All Star at the end of this tournament as well.
Queensland College of Teachers – TEACHX Awards – 30 Finalists Announced
Congratulations to Ms Danielle Chapman, Year 4CH who earlier this year was nominated as one of 230 nominees across six categories for the 2022 QCT TEACHX Awards. 71 of these nominations were shortlisted before three rigorous rounds of judging were completed by expert panellists including classroom teachers and principals from across state, Catholic and independent schools and early childhood settings. Nominations were judged against a set of criteria specific to each award category that considered factors such as a nominee’s impact on student learning, and their contribution to the school community and the profession. Congratulations to Ms Chapman who has been selected as one of the inspiring finalists for her amazing, innovative, inclusive work with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The winners will be announced at the TEACHX Awards Ceremony in Brisbane on Thursday 27 October, the eve of World Teachers’ Day celebrations in Queensland. Ms Chapmans inspiring story and significant achievements can be found here at the following link: https://www.qct.edu.au/stories/teacher-story?id=25

PREP ENROLMENTS 2023 AND BEYOND
Thanks to the many parents who have already completed our enrolment forms for their 2023 Prep child. With our current enrolments for Prep next year, spaces are becoming very scarce. In catchment and sibling enrolments are our priority. Our online enrolment form is our preferred enrolment method which is available on our website and once completed our wonderful admin staff are able to provide you with an enrolment interview ASAP. If you’d like a paper copy, please contact the office to collect one and to begin the process for enrolment.
Notification of Intent
During Term 4, we undergo the process of planning for 2023, including formation of classes. If your child will not be attending Rangeville State School next year, please contact the school office in writing using the following email address admin@rangevilless.eq.edu.au as soon as practical. Rangeville State School P&C Association Outside School Hours Care (ROSHC)
What a great vacation care program!
These holidays were full of activities for all children to enjoy. We had lots of getting outside exploring nature and enjoying the nice weather, with these days came children creating new ROSHC gardens and tiding up the Bush Tucker garden. We had lots of active games from new ones like pool noodle croquet, toppling tug-a-war, rolley the steam rollers relay, wheel barrow races and old favourites like capture the flag, twister, sock wrestling and obstacle courses. We had the many talents of ROSHC children putting on performances for each other of dance, puppet shows and creative drama shows. There was sand art, nature crafts, base creations, DIY tool boxes, large construction builds, face painting and many other forms of craft.
The wonderful visit from the fire fighters and the ambulance was just a treat that all the children were excited about and enjoyed going through the ambulance and using the fire hose. The visitors were very informative with the children and answered all their questions. Wheelie day saw many children excited to show off their bikes, scooters and roller skates. The children were all showing their skills and being very mindful of each other and very encouraging to each other.
We always enjoy vacation care and the feedback we get from the children. These holidays we had things like ‘I always had something to do’, ‘I enjoyed playing with my friends’, ‘the food was delicious’, ‘I really liked the fire truck and using the hose’ and ‘I can’t wait to see the garden flower’. So thank you all for a wonderful time, we hope you enjoyed it. We have started gathering information and ideas for the big Christmas holiday. We would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions for the holidays.
Want to join the in the fun at before or after school care or at the next vacation care? Send an email to roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au for a enrolment pack!
Want to join the team at ROSHC? Send your resume through to roshc@rangevilless.eq.edu.au or bring it to the ROSHC office in the school hall!
